From the series Perfumed Words, this giclée print on archival cold press paper, is from a botanical study rendered in charcoal, where petals and stems take on the forms of resistance and memory. Titled You Will Come Back, the work borrows its name from Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood, hinting at the cyclical nature of longing, ruin, and renewal.
At first glance, the composition resembles a flower in bloom—but on closer inspection, it suggests a ghostly figure or even a detonation, blurring the line between natural beauty and destructive force. Part of a series that reimagines flowers as carriers of subversive code, this piece challenges the notion of botanical illustration as benign or decorative.
